Last week, COS launched a menswear capsule collection at the 94th edition of Pitti Uomo in Florence. The first time the brand has presented at Pitti, the 17 piece collection and presentation was conceived in collaboration with Wayne McGregor – Resident Choreographer at The Royal Ballet, and a multi award winning British choreographer and director. Wayne and nine dancers from his company moved through the Istituto degli Innocenti in an explorative and contemporary performance. We were there and we witnessed how the unconscious and unintentional everyday movements which formed the starting point of the collection, were put into motion to encapsulate the COS aesthetic: wearable, versatile and quietly inventive.

COS AW18 Preview
An fittingly autumnal spring day in Dublin on 12th April to preview the COS Autumn Winter 2018 collection Presented in a private residence close to the city center, the double height glass wall brought the outside in and reflected the AW18 collection’s starting point of juxtaposing metropolitan and natural environments. Natural tones of green and brown were punctuated with sulphur and muted lilac alongside colder, industrial hues of grey, off-white and petrol.

Só Collective has now closed its copper doors. We want to take this opportunity to thank the 100 plus designers at the vanguard of Irish design, who worked with Só Collective during our time in Kildare Village, and to all those who supported this pop up during the two years of the project’s duration. We @balubacreative are looking forward to the next chapter. Beautiful outtake from our campaign shoot by @andrewnuding and @kierankilgallon.

The British Collective by Luke Edward Hall
A big thank you to all the emerging designers who worked with us on The British Collective by Luke Edward Hall, a gifting pop-up conceived and operated by Baluba and hosted by Bicester Village. The seasonal retail experience was rendered in Hall’s signature brilliant palette and inspired by “an imagined eccentric English country house [offering] a colourful, magical environment for festive shoppers”. The quality, vibrancy and eclecticism at the heart of British design came through in apparel, accessories and homewares by Markus Lupfer, Sophie Hulme, Jade Jagger, Tom Dixon and more.

& Other Stories Los Angeles Atelier
This week saw the first collection arrive from the newly opened Los Angeles Atelier of & Other Stories, based on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. Joining collections designed in Stockholm and Paris, the pieces will complement the minimalism of the former and the romanticism of the latter.
& Other Stories is no stranger to the Golden State and has previously collaborated on a capsule collection with Los Angeles-based Rodarte. It will open its third store in California later this month.
Time does fly. This year, COS marks a decade of delivering its philosophy of fashion; rooted in quality, conceived with an ethos of modern, timeless, functional and tactile design at its centre. Arriving as a thoroughly new proposition, COS now has over 200 stores worldwide.
The culmination of this anniversary celebration is a capsule collection of ten pieces that nods to classic design techniques and references while remaining undeniably contemporary.
